"O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Psalm 8 verse 1 We commonly think about God being up in the air. We look up towards the heavens and we see the shining sun, or the starry hosts. On this particular morning I saw the shining sun, shining bright as it rose over to the east like a furnace and continued unhindered upwards into the sky. Many think it can be controlled. You can move rivers and build land on water (if you have enough money) but the sun is different. The sun cannot be stopped, by mere man at least. It will rise in the east, and it will set in the west. It will do this day after day until God says it must stop. But it can be hidden. The day saw me take a train to Paris. I was heading south east and the sun was to my left, but then it disappeared. I had entered the tunnel. Twenty meters below sea level is quite an isolated place to be. I could not look up towards the sky to see God, it was hidden. And for a moment I thought about this. I know God is omnipresent, He is everywhere, but I could not realise the direct connection to the heavens that are all so apparent on the surface, and then it struck me. God is not just everywhere, He is in me. I asked Him in, and he is with me wherever I go, forever. This brought home the fact that you are never far from God, there are no physical boundaries so great to separate you from God. No matter your situation or location if you are a Christian, God is with you. He lived in Paul the apostle who said in Galatians 2:20 “I myself no longer lives, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
